Who we are
Friends for Matibi is a charitable association based in Lucerne. The board works on a voluntary basis. On the ground, the Friends for Matibi Trust in Mwenezi, Zimbabwe, delivers projects with a local team. The cooperation is governed by a written agreement between the association and the Trust.
How donations are used
Project budgets are approved annually by the board. The team in Zimbabwe requests funds for each project, documents every expense and reports monthly. The association’s accounts are reviewed by auditors each year and presented to the general assembly.
Tax
The association is tax-exempt due to its charitable purpose. Donations may be deducted from taxes in Switzerland in accordance with cantonal regulations.
