Operationssaal-Renovierung abgeschlossen

After months of careful planning and construction, we are thrilled to announce the successful completion of Phase 1 of the operating theatre renovation at Matibi Mission Hospital. This transformative project represents a crucial step forward in providing quality healthcare to the Matibi community and surrounding areas.

Project Overview

The renovation project focused on completely modernizing Theatre 1, the primary operating room at Matibi Mission Hospital. This comprehensive renovation included:

• Complete Infrastructure Overhaul: New flooring, walls, and ceiling designed to maintain sterile surgical environments
• Advanced Lighting Systems: Installation of modern surgical lighting that provides optimal visibility for complex procedures
• Medical Equipment Upgrade: New surgical instruments and monitoring equipment to support a wider range of medical procedures
• Safety Protocol Enhancement: Implementation of improved infection control and safety measures
• Staff Training: Comprehensive training for local medical staff on new equipment and procedures

Community Impact

This renovation directly benefits over 10,000 people in the Matibi district who rely on the hospital for their medical needs. The improved facility enables:

• More complex surgical procedures to be performed locally
• Reduced need for patients to travel long distances for surgery
• Improved patient outcomes through better surgical conditions
• Enhanced confidence in local healthcare services
• Continued medical training for local healthcare workers

Sustainable Partnership

The project was completed through a collaborative partnership between Friends for Matibi, local contractors, medical professionals, and the hospital administration. This approach ensures that the facility will be properly maintained and that local expertise continues to grow.

Special recognition goes to our Swiss partners, local construction teams, and the dedicated medical staff who made this project possible. Their commitment to quality and sustainability ensures that this investment will benefit the community for many years to come.

Looking Forward

While celebrating this achievement, we remain committed to continued healthcare improvements in the Matibi area. Phase 1 of the operating theatre renovation sets the foundation for future healthcare infrastructure developments and demonstrates the powerful impact of community-centered development.

The renovated operating theatre stands as a testament to what can be achieved when communities, international partners, and local expertise work together toward a common goal of improving lives and building a healthier future for all.
