Nehanda Clinic serves approximately 6,600 people in a remote, largely off-grid area of Ward 2, Mwenezi District. Since its construction in 1984, the facility has received little maintenance. This project delivers critical infrastructure upgrades and a reliable medicine supply to restore safe, dignified healthcare for the entire community.
The Challenges
The clinic faces deteriorating infrastructure — leaking roofs, broken doors, and damaged windows in the maternity waiting home — no reliable electricity, forcing nurses to use mobile phone torches during nighttime deliveries, and persistent shortages of essential medicines for chronic diseases, emergencies, and infant care.

- •Solar Water Pump — connecting the borehole (800m away) to the 10,000-litre onsite tank
- •Essential Medicines — chronic disease medication (hypertension, diabetes, asthma), rabies post-exposure prophylaxis, infant medicines, and eye treatments
