Partition Walls at Matibi Nook

Partition Walls at Matibi Nook

This project constructs internal partition walls at Matibi Nook using Zimtex fibre cement boards — creating defined, multi-purpose learning spaces that allow different training programs to run simultaneously without disruption.

The Problem

The current open-plan structure at Matibi Nook means that noise from one activity — metal fabrication, beauty training, or classroom lessons — disrupts others. Administrative work also lacks a dedicated space. Internal partitions will transform the building into multiple functional areas.

About Zimtex Boards

Zimtex boards are durable fibre cement boards widely used in Zimbabwe for interior partitions. They are strong, fire-resistant, and have a long lifespan. The partitions will be constructed with a metal or timber frame and can be disassembled and reconfigured as the hub's needs evolve. Nook learners will participate in the installation as a practical learning opportunity.
