The Matibi Nook After-Program Business Accelerator bridges the gap between skills training and real business creation — providing structured mentorship, business development support, and seed funding for at least 20 entrepreneurs annually.
The Challenge
Nook Hub participants leave the program inspired and equipped with innovative business ideas. However, the transition from training to implementation remains a major challenge — without mentorship, startup capital, and ongoing support, many promising ideas fail to materialise.
Programme Components
- •Entrepreneurship Training — refine business ideas, validate markets, develop viable business models
- •Business Development Support — financial management, branding, pricing, and business registration
- •Mentorship & Coaching — ongoing guidance from experienced business professionals
- •Seed Funding — startup capital and tools to launch businesses
- •Mobile Caravan Kitchen — a social enterprise providing hands-on training and generating income across different locations
Revolving Fund Model: Funds are reinvested as participants repay or generate returns — ensuring continuous support for future entrepreneurs and reducing reliance on donor funding.
Expected Outcomes
- •At least 5 new youth-led businesses launched in year one
- •New local employment opportunities created
- •Operational Mobile Caravan Kitchen generating income
- •Reduced dependency on donor funding for Nook operations
