Healing Before Building: Psychosocial Support Camp

Healing Before Building: Psychosocial Support Camp

A transformational 4-day psychosocial support camp at Great Zimbabwe National Monument Campsite for Nook learners. This intervention addresses emotional challenges, builds resilience, and develops coping mechanisms through adventure therapy, cultural inspiration, and experiential learning. The camp combines outdoor activities, trauma-informed facilitation, and life skills development to prepare learners for their skills-building journey with emotional and mental readiness. The comprehensive 4-day program includes authentic Zimbabwean cuisine (sadza, beef stew, traditional vegetables) supporting physical and emotional healing. Daily activities follow evidence-based methodologies including morning circles, therapeutic sessions, adventure therapy, cultural exploration at Great Zimbabwe heritage site, and evening reflection circles. The program utilizes Kolb's learning cycle, participatory approaches, and trauma-informed care to achieve core objectives of emotional healing, resilience building, social integration, and life skills development.
