A New Kind of Exhibition
On 8 May 2026, Matibi Nook Hub hosted its 9th Cycle Exhibition — and this time around, we did things differently. Instead of a traditional sit-down event, we opened the doors to a walk-in exhibition, inviting the community to come and go throughout the day. The result? A constant flow of visitors, genuine energy, and a day nobody will forget.
Community Turns Out in Force
From the first hour to the very end, community members arrived in great numbers. Parents, neighbours, local leaders, and curious visitors all walked through the exhibition, exploring the projects and connecting with the learners behind them. The open format meant people could spend as much time as they liked at each station — and many did.
What Was on Show
The exhibition floor covered the full breadth of Nook Hub skills: metal fabrication projects including handcrafted chicken cages and structural frames, solar and electrical installation demonstrations, professional baking and cake decoration, beauty and nail technician services, and much more. Every station was run by the learners themselves.
Real Business Opportunities
One of the most exciting outcomes of the day was the real business interest shown by visitors. Several learners received potential orders and direct business inquiries from attendees — a powerful reminder that the skills developed at the Nook Hub are genuinely valued in the community and marketplace.
Confidence on Display
What stood out most was the confidence and professionalism the learners brought to their presentations. They explained their projects clearly, answered questions with ease, and engaged visitors with pride. The community responded with warmth and genuine appreciation.
A Message from the Nook Lead
"I am incredibly proud and happy with how the learners represented themselves and the Matibi Nook Hub. They truly did justice to the exhibition, and the experience served as a reminder of the potential that young people have when given the right space, support, and opportunity to create and innovate."
— Nook Lead, Matibi Nook Hub
The Nook Hub Story Continues
Each exhibition cycle builds on the last. The 9th Cycle Walk-In Exhibition showed that when young people are given the tools, the training, and the trust — they rise to the occasion every time. We look forward to the journey ahead in Cycle 10.
