Learners Thrive in the Organic Garden

Learners Thrive in the Organic Garden

Today at Matibi Nook Hub, learning extended far beyond the classroom walls as learners actively participated in organic garden work under cool, overcast skies. The cloudy weather created the perfect environment for focused, hands-on agricultural practice.

The learners worked diligently to cultivate vegetables and tend to the young trees in the garden. Through digging, planting, weeding, and nurturing crops, they strengthened not only the soil but also their understanding of sustainable agriculture and food security.

Expert Guidance from Dedicated Mentors

This educational activity was expertly led by Gilbert, Simbarashe, and Florence, who guided the learners through practical techniques in organic farming. Their mentorship ensured that the session was both productive and deeply educational.

Skills Gained in the Garden

Learners gained valuable knowledge about:

  • •Soil preparation and maintenance
  • •Organic cultivation methods
  • •Tree care and long-term crop management
  • •The importance of teamwork in agricultural production

Experiential Learning in Action

At Matibi Nook Hub, we believe in experiential learning — empowering young people with practical life skills that promote self-reliance, environmental stewardship, and community development.

Today's garden work was more than just cultivation; it was a lesson in responsibility, sustainability, and growth. We are proud of our learners for their dedication and enthusiasm, regardless of the weather.
